A Home Thermometer That Is Whole-Family Friendly
The TemporalScanner Thermometer for home use is a totally non-invasive thermometer with advanced infrared technology providing maximum ease of home use with quick, consistently accurate measurements. Advanced, patented technology measures temperatures with a gentle stroke across the forehead.
The TemporalScanner Thermometer has been clinically tested for accuracy compared to rectal thermometers and temperature sensors inserted in the heart during course of patient treatment and accepted for use in major hospitals, making it the ideal thermometer for use with newborns, infants, children or adults.
With Twice Daily Temperature checks at home, the TemporalScanner has patented software, providing arterial heat balance. This unique process determines temperature by accurately measuring the balance between the tissues warming from arterial blood and tissues cooling (warming) caused by heat loss (gain) to the environment.

How to Use Forehead Scan Thermometers
Here’s a trick for getting the best results with your scanner at home: Just remember "Touch". Anytime you are touching your child’s skin with the scanner, you should be touching your scanner’s button.
Remove the protective cap and place the thermometer head flat against your child’s forehead.
Once the thermometer is touching the skin, press the button and keep it depressed as you gently glide your Exergen scanner across the forehead at the hairline. Be certain not to go down the side of the face or the technology can’t work.
While still holding the button down, use the scanner to touch the soft spot behind the ear. Then let go of the button and read the temperature.
Keep it clean
A dirty scanner can alter the accuracy of your readings, so it is important you clean it on a regular basis. Use a Q-tip dipped in alcohol directly on the lens every 2-3 weeks. Do not use paper towels or tissues. Wait 5 minutes before using the scanner so it can recover from the coldness of the alcohol.
